Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a deeply relaxing, rhythmic technique that is administered at the skin level. It supports the natural movement of lymph fluid through your body and can be effective in reducing stagnation, inflammation, and fatigue. I use the Vodder method as taught by Klose Training.

This treatment can be very beneficial for:

  • Post-surgical clients (with surgeon approval for recent surgeries)
  • Conditions such as seasonal allergies, EDS, diabetes, migraines
  • Hormonal shifts, fluid retention, or sluggish immune systems
  • Anyone seeking a calming way to support metabolic recovery

What to Expect

You’ll want to arrive well hydrated and have a not-too-full stomach. We’ll discuss your goals for lymphatic drainage, talk about what areas of the body will receive treatment and check on any potential contraindications. I’ll give you a chance to use the restroom (because hydration!) and then I’ll leave you to undress and get on the treatment table. You are welcome to undress to your level of comfort. I do need skin access in the areas where I’ll be performing lymphatic drainage.

During the session I’ll work through a set sequence of techniques, systematically going from one area to the next, uncovering and recovering the areas as I go. This modality uses a very light touch and rhythmic movement that many people find very relaxing. You might think of it as a skin-level treatment vs. having your muscles massaged.

Afterwards you may feel lighter, fatigued, relaxed or like you’ve just had a sauna session. Plan to let your body rest and continue processing the work through the rest of the day. You’ve just received a boost to your immune system and increased circulation through your tissues. Your body will need rest and hydration for best results.
